ABOUT ME

I have a bachelor's degree in Special Education, a master's degree in School Psychology, and a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling. I have been particularly drawn to adolescents since my very first job as a middle school and high school School Psychologist. In all honesty, I wasn't a big fan of that time in my life, so I have a great deal of empathy for kids trying to manage "teenage angst" ... struggling to fit in, peer conflicts, being bullied, emotional overload, trying to find yourself and who you want to be, breakups, academic struggles, and so much more.

Over the last several years I have received training in the following therapeutic modalities:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • LGBTQ+ Affirmative Therapy

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

  • Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Prolonged Exposure (PE)

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

When it comes to developing your counseling goals, we will work together to determine which modality (or combination of modalities) is right for you. I am drawn to principles of behaviorism, but also recognize that we are all unique and won't necessarily respond to a one-size-fits-all approach. I strive to create an open, affirming, welcoming, and safe space for you to be your authentic self within each and every therapy session. I recognize the importance of intersectionality and the many ways our identities can create assets or liabilities throughout our life journey.

I am an anti-racist, gentle disruptor, healer, storyteller, and social justice advocate who believes in using my inherent privileges to dismantle systems of oppression for marginalized individuals.

Hand Waving Out of Car

I believe YOU should always be in the driver's seat of your own mental health & wellness journey!

But don't worry...I'll be the one (figuratively speaking) sitting next to you in the passenger's seat with snacks, directions, your cell phone charger, and playing songs from an amazing road trip playlist.
